Jay has been with Opportunity Services for a year following High School graduation. Weekly site visits by the Opportunity Services staff to Century High School made the transition easier on Jay. Now, the trust between the OS staff and Jay’s family has formed and over the last year Jay has moved from 1:1 ratio to 1:3 ratio in the Enhanced program. He enjoys weekly lunch and many other outings with the Opportunity Services staff and getting to know the Rochester community.

Nikki has been with Opportunity Services for almost five years. She participated on a work team until behavioral concerns forced the staff to move her into the Enhanced program. She transitioned to a 1:3 ratio until her behavioral issues resurfaced. The Opportunity Services staff suggested that a medical team should re-evaluate her medications due to her change in behavior. Following the re-evaluation, Nikki’s behavior greatly improved. Because Opportunity Services advocated for Nikki, Olmsted County stepped in with more care for Nikki, including a re-evaluation of her medications and behavioral supports. Nikki is now a 1:1 client at OS and the staff constantly assist her at work sites and report to the team daily.
