Opportunity Services is a local nonprofit in Fort Myers, Florida that helps adults with disabilities to find competitive, integrated employment. With locations in Florida, Minnesota and Massachusetts, Opportunity Services utilizes many types of technology to make communications clear throughout their various locations. As we all know, technology is always changing and when the Opportunity Services office in Fort Myers was notified about new video equipment, they immediately thought of a good idea! Leonie Wennekers, Employment Coordinator, (pictured about left) came up with the idea to donate the equipment to the local Harry Chapin Food Bank.

Once she had the ok from Opportunity Services leadership, she reached out to Kevin Maloney, IT Director at the Harry Chapin Food Bank. Kevin was very excited to receive the equipment, especially since the food bank recently opened a new location in Naples. The Harry Chapin Food Bank also has over 150 partner agencies throughout southwest Florida. This video equipment would save them drive time and money for meetings between the locations.

“I immediately thought of Harry Chapin Food Bank,” said Leonie Wennekers. “They help so many individuals in Southwest Florida and distribute over 24 million pounds of food every year. I knew this equipment could help them continue their mission.” The video equipment was donated around the end of August, making both companies very happy!
