Mission, Vision, Values Award Winner: Brittney Domeier

Brittney Domeier is our latest Mission, Vision, Values Award Winner! Here is her nomination from a co-worker: Brittney is an intern with OS here in St. Cloud. Even though she hasn’t been with us long, the times I have interacted with Brittney I really felt that she understood our mission, vision and values and incorporated them in to her daily activities with clients and other staff. Specifically, I was subbing for another job coach at our Fairfield Inn site, and Brittney came in to see how the crew at Fairfield interacts with each other, hotel staff, and to see how we can improve the site for our clients. She immediately recognized some struggles with the crew at this site. I was amazed to see Brittney step in to a tough situation and take control, trying to help turn it in to a positive situation. I feel that Brittney really knows how to put our mission, vision and values in to practice. We should all be proud to have such a fantastic person on our team!

Honestly, I have changed my career choice so many times and still am unsure where exactly I will end up. I enjoy working in the mental health field so I am hoping maybe someday I can make a career out of it.

Why are you deserving of this MVV award?
I’m still shocked and not quite sure I do deserve this award. Throughout my time with OS the past month and a half I have been learning and experiencing a lot and all of that is because of the staff involved with OS that I have been fortunate enough to learn from and shadow.

What’s your favorite thing about Opportunity Services?
My favorite thing about OS would have to be the community involvement aspect for individuals with mental illness; that they not only support this population but also treat them as equals and promote individual jobs and self-efficiency.

Do you have any advice for other employees at Opportunity Services?
Learn just as much from the clients as they are learning from you.

What do you like to do for fun in your free time?
