Opportunity Services marks 11th Anniversary of Participation in the Golfer’s Choice Golf Tournament benefitting The Arc of Southeastern Minnesota

June 28th, 2016 — Opportunity Services, a local nonprofit that helps adults with disabilities find employment, will be celebrating their 11th year of participation in the Golfer’s Choice Golf Tournament at the Somberby Golf Club benefitting The Arc of Southeastern Minnesota in Byron, Minnesota on Monday, July 25th. Opportunity Services clients will be greeting and assisting tournament participants at one of the golf tournament holes. The clients truly enjoy “working” at this event and request to come back year after year! The three clients highlighted below have participated in recent years and would be happy to speak with media for interviews before or after the golf tournament about this exciting opportunity to give back to the community by supporting The Arc!

Meet Jenny: She has been with Opportunity Services since 2005 and is an amazing addition at any work site! Known for her positive attitude, she is always sweet to other clients and OS employees. Although she prefers to work on a hotel work team, she is up for any task. Jenny is happy knowing that she is working to support herself no matter what work team she is on. Year after year Jenny participates in the golf tournament because she enjoys spending time with friends outside and getting to know the golfers.

Meet Morgan (Left): She has been working with Opportunity Services for about 3 years. She began working just 1 day a week and has since risen the ranks to working full time! In fact, during the school year, she serves as the Lead Dishwasher at the Taher Middle School in Kasson. One of her favorite parts of the Golf Tournament is getting to see friends and old teachers who are golfers! Meet Teresa (Right): She is a very excited for another year at The Arc Golf Tournament, one of her favorite times of the year. One of her favorite job sites is Oxbow Park where she gets to spend time outside cleaning the camp area for the people visiting the area. Teresa began just working 2 days a week. Now, she works 4 days a week and is looking to add an additional day to her schedule!

Any of the clients highlighted above would be happy to interview with the media. To schedule an interview or if you are interested in visiting the Opportunity Services hole at the golf tournament, please contact Dillon Quinn, PR Assistant at 612-799-4275 or [email protected]
